The Hotel
Igaliku Bygdehotel offers cozy and comfortable accommodation, spiced delicious Greenlandic meals served in the café. The hiking opportunities are some of the best in the area, including two beautiful and very diverse full-day hikes.
There’s something for everyone: you can go fishing at Lake 90, explore the old Norse ruins that tell of bustling activity in Igaliku 1,000 years ago, or simply relax and enjoy the view with a book on the terrace outside your cabin.
Wireless internet (Wi-Fi hotspot) is available at the hotel for a fee.
Cabins
If you’re looking for a more private stay, we highly recommend booking one of our cabins. They are located high above the hotel with an impressive view of the fjord and the magnificent nature right outside your door.
Inside, you’ll find a modern interior with comfortable beds, a small table, and two lounge chairs. All cabins are heated, have electricity, and a private bathroom with hot/cold water, toilet, and shower. You’ll also find an electric kettle and complimentary coffee and tea.
Please note that the cabins do not have cooking facilities.
We have 6 cabins with 2 beds in each, and it’s also possible to add an extra bed. Your stay includes bed linen, towels, breakfast, and self-brewed coffee and tea.
Guest House
In 2021, Blue Ice Explorer opened a guest house in Igaliku, a large log cabin with modern decor. The house has 4 rooms for double or single use, shared bath and toilet facilities, and a common bathroom next to the living room.
The stay includes bed linen, towels, breakfast, and free tea and coffee. There are no cooking facilities on site.
Villa
Since 2019, Blue Ice Explorer has rented out a lovely villa in Igaliku, perfect for small groups or families who want to stay in Igaliku in a homely setting. The villa is a newly built wooden house with a sun terrace that wraps around the entire house, offering the finest views of the fjord and mountains.
The interior is very modern and has everything you need to relax and enjoy your stay. The villa consists of two bedrooms with double beds, a kitchen in open connection with a large living room, and a spacious bathroom.
Above the bedrooms, there is a loft with 2 mattresses—a perfect place for the youngest guests to sleep. Next to the villa, we have a smaller annex with a double room, which can be added to your stay if you are a larger group.
Stays in the villa include bed linen, towels, a kitchen with all utensils, refrigerator, and more, as well as full cleaning after checkout.
Breakfast is not included in the villa, but you have the option to cook for yourself or book meals at the hotel’s restaurant, which is just a few hundred meters from the villa.
Restaurant
At Igaliku Bygdehotel, you’ll find the village’s only restaurant, which was renovated in 2021. Here we serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner, including two courses with local Greenlandic products.
You can also buy soft drinks, juice, beer, and wine.
The restaurant also offers coffee, tea, homemade cake, chocolate, snacks, postcards, hiking maps, and souvenirs.
