With mountain landscapes as a backdrop, the Eqi Glacier in the foreground, and the Ice Sheet on the horizon, all 14 cabins and 6 Luxury Wilderness Tents are uniquely situated, offering optimized panoramic views of the glacier from both the cabin and the terrace.
For overnight guests at Glacier Lodge Eqi, all meals are included and enjoyed at Café Victor. Adjacent to the café are flush toilets and showers.
The water in the camp comes from a drinking water lake up in the mountains, and electricity is generated via solar panels or a generator when necessary. Here, you can enjoy an undisturbed Greenland experience with a Wi-Fi-free stay close to nature.
The sound of thunder
From Glacier Lodge Eqi, you have front-row seats to the calving of the Eqi Glacier. When large pieces of ice break away from the glacier front and plunge into the sea, it takes a few seconds for the sound to reach you. First, you see the ice fall, then comes the roar – like thunder rolling between the mountains and breaking the silence.
In summer, the glacier calves on average about every 10 minutes, and many guests end up spending a large part of their stay simply sitting on the terrace, waiting for the next thunderous roar. The sound can be surprisingly powerful, so if you are a light sleeper, it may be a good idea to bring a pair of earplugs.
Glacier Sauna
The Glacier Sauna at Glacier Lodge Eqi offers a unique wellness experience surrounded by Greenland's magnificent nature. Enjoy the warmth while taking in panoramic views of the fjord and the calving glacier. After your sauna session, cool off under the outdoor shower with refreshing meltwater from the Greenland Ice Sheet.
Summer at Eqi
Glacier Lodge Eqi is only open during the summer months, from mid-june to mid-september. This is the short period when ice conditions make it possible to sail to the lodge, while the midnight sun provides long, bright days for hiking and exploring the area.
Demand for Glacier Lodge Eqi is high, and the number of cabins and tents is limited. It is therefore a good idea to book well in advance if you want to experience the Eqi Glacier from the lodge.
Explore the wilderness
Glacier Lodge Eqi is surrounded by mountains, fjord and the Greenland Ice Sheet. From here, you can follow the trails to the moraine, where you can get close to the glacier and the open landscape makes vast distances seem deceptively small. You can also hike through the mountains along the water, with expansive views over the river delta, or take the longer full-day hike towards the Greenland Ice Sheet.
There are hikes at different levels, and several can be experienced with a guide.

About Eqi Glacier (Eqip Sermia)
Eqi Glacier, also known as Eqip Sermia, is a spectacular Arctic glacier in Greenland stretching 3.4 km wide, renowned for dramatic calving.

All Comfort Deluxe Cabins at Glacier Lodge Eqi are positioned with panoramic windows offering fantastic views of the sea and the Eqi Glacier.
Each Comfort Deluxe Cabin has its own terrace, underfloor heating, and a private bathroom and toilet.
Electricity is available, but please note that outages may occur, as all power is generated by solar panels.
The Comfort Deluxe Cabins offer 2 beds + 2 extra beds.
Comfort Cabins
All Comfort Cabins at Glacier Lodge Eqi are positioned with fantastic views of the sea and the Eqi Glacier.
Each Comfort Cabin has its own terrace, private bathroom, and toilet. The cabin is heated with a heat pump.
Electricity is available, but please note that outages may occur, as all power is generated by solar panels.
The Comfort Cabins offer 2 beds + 2 extra beds.
Wilderness Tents
All Luxury Wilderness Tents are positioned with fantastic views of the sea and the Eqi Glacier. Each tent is set on a platform that serves as a terrace.
The Luxury Wilderness Tents at Glacier Lodge Eqi are equipped with comfortable beds and a gas heater.
There is no electricity, so if you visit late in the season, it is necessary to use the lanterns in the late hours, but during summer, we use the midnight sun as the only light source. Shared toilets and showers are located next to Café Victor.

Café Victor
Café with a view of the glacier
Café Victor is the gathering point at Glacier Lodge Eqi. Here, you can sit down with a cup of coffee and enjoy the views of the fjord and the Eqi Glacier.
All guests staying at Glacier Lodge Eqi have full board included in their stay. The day begins with breakfast at Café Victor before you head out onto the hiking trails around the lodge. You can pick up a packed lunch from the café to enjoy along the trail or return for lunch. Dinner is also served at Café Victor, and with the long, bright summer days, there is plenty of time to sit back and enjoy your meal.
