Why travel as part of a group?
An active group tour is a fantastic way to explore nature, stay active and enjoy the company of like-minded travellers. Travelling as part of a group also makes it possible to visit places that would be difficult - or simply too expensive - to reach on your own due to logistical challenges.How large are the groups?
Our groups are deliberately kept small to ensure that the group size enhances, rather than detracts from, the overall experience and minimizes our impact on the places we visit. On our small-group tours to Greenland, there are typically between 10 and 16 participants.
On a few selected departures, there may be up to 22 participants, in which case the group is divided into smaller groups for activities. Our experience is that smaller groups provide more authentic experiences while creating the best conditions for a strong social atmosphere.
What is the social atmosphere like on a group travel?
Travelling actively as part of a group creates a unique sense of community, especially when you share unforgettable experiences with people who have the same passion for travel and the outdoors.
The social aspect is an important part of many of our trips, and our travellers often say that gathering in the evening for meals, conversation and stories from the day's adventures is one of the highlights of the journey.
Who travels on a group tour?
On our group tours, you will meet everyone from solo travellers and singles to couples, friends and families. What brings the group together is a shared passion for exploring the world and enjoying active experiences in great company. It is often the combination of active days, shared achievements along the way and relaxed conversations over dinner that creates a strong sense of community.
If this is your first time travelling alone, it may feel like a big step. But you will quickly discover that your fellow travellers share the same curiosity, adventurous spirit and enthusiasm for travel as you do.
How much do I need to plan myself?
Our group travels are package holidays, with flights, local transport, accommodation and excursions included in the price. In most cases, all you need to do is pack your bag and get ready for your adventure.
On selected tours, it is possible to book a single room or additional experiences at an extra cost. Where available, these options will be listed under "Not included" in the tour description.

Do you have experience organising group tours?
Greenland by Topas has more than 20 years of experience planning trips to Greenland. We are also part of Topas Travel, which has been organising adventure and group travel around the world since 1973.
As our small-group tours are package holidays, you are protected under the Danish Package Travel Act and the applicable EU Package Travel Directive. This means that if your package holiday cannot be carried out due to unavoidable and extraordinary circumstances - such as government restrictions, travel restrictions or safety concerns at the destination - we will refund the full amount you have paid.
