May - travel to Greenland

In May, there are now very few places you can drive a dog sled. The snow is too soft and much of it has melted. The sun is now high in the sky with long hours of daylight, and circles the horizon instead of setting. Now is the season of the midnight sun. The ice on fjords and lakes begins to melt, and the short Arctic spring is bursting into life everywhere. Boats are made ready for the summer's adventures, and the sled dogs receive a deserved summer holiday until the snow and ice return.
